Dubai Twestival 2011 DS Playground

This Thursday, March 24 2010, Twestival Dubai is happening at Intercontinental Dubai Festival City!

The Twestival, Twitter Festival,  “uses social media for social good by connecting communities offline on a single day to highlight a great cause and have a fun event”. This year, all proceeds from Dubai Twestival will go to the Dubai Autism Center. It’s also the biggest tweetup of the year, so there’s definitely a lot of people coming. (Register here)

Two days later, it’ll be Saturday March 26 2011.

On that day, the 3DS comes out in the US.

Therefore, it’ll be fitting for everyone who has a DS to come over to Twestival with their systems and have a great time playing with them.

How?

1- Get you games that have a Tag Mode/Pass By “feature”! You know, like the one in Dragon Quest IX and Nintendog’s Bark Mode.

After some intensive googling, I’ve compiled a list of some games, in alphabetical order, that most of us should have with what happens when you tag with them:

• Animal Crossing – Exchange mail & neighbors.
• Dragon Quest IX – Meet new heroes, get treasure maps.
• Dragon Quest VI -  Exchange Dioramas.
• Kingdom Hearts Re:coded – Exchange Avatars & Maps.
• Nintendogs – Earn Collectibles.
• Pokemon Black & White – Collect Survey Answers & get Trainer Info (Answer all the questions at the Survey Center in Castelia City beforehand)
• The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass – Item Exchange.
• The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks – Item Exchange.
• The World Ends With You – Earn Pin Points.

2- Multiplayer Games!

Of course what good a DS extravaganza would be without 8 player Mario Kart DS races and some Pokemon battles?! Some of the “popular” ones:

• Mario 64 DS
• Mario Kart DS
• Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Heart Gold, Soul Silver, Black and White (I dare you to challenge me)
• Advance Wars Dual Strike and Days of Ruin
• Elite Beat Agents
• Metroid Prime Hunters
• New Super Mario Bros

I’m sure most people will bring their Dragon Quest IX and Pokemon games with them since they’re the most recent ones and are fresh in everyone’s memories, but do get the games I’ve listed if you own them.
