Impressions of E3 – Big Disappointments
With the share of pleasant surprises this E3, there’s also a share things that left me laying my head on the desk table in embarrassment while watching E3.
Mass Effect 3 not Mass Effect anymore:
I really hate to sound like a raging nerd (more than I already am) over a game that is not out yet, but seriously what happened? Is Bioware pulling a Square-Enix here? Funny how is said when it’s the company that said “Final Fantasy XIII is not an RPG”, I see Bioware slowly becoming that, Dragon Age 2 was no where near the RPG behemoth that was the first Dragon Age, Mass Effect 2 was less of an RPG than Mass Effect 1 (even though I thought the game was very good), but Mass Effect 3 is shaping up to be far less of an RPG now, and that really breaks my heart. Mass Effect was one of my favorite new game series of recent and seeing it turn into this is something that upsets me.
Not my Shepard in the Mass Effect 3:
Who the hell is this generic looking, bald space marine trying to be Shepard… ok ok the joke is getting old, moving on.
Halo 4:
Seriously? “A dawn of a new trilogy?” So does that mean you confirmed the release of Halo 5 and 6 too? What does that make Final Fantasy then? Stop messing around, it’s not a trilogy anymore, and you can never pull off a Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.
Idiots thinking the Wii U Controller is the Wii U:
Being fair, they did not show the machine on stage very well it was just a static image in the background just right underneath the TV that’s playing the games in the demonstrations, so the confusion is almost understandable. Honestly you have to be really dense to think Nintendo will release a giant “portable” as their next big console and declare Armageddon to the gaming industry, apparently everyone’s a video game industry business analyst.
To Conclude:
E3 as a whole was better than expected but there were a few things made me shake my head, and seeing what we got in store from E3, it’s making me very Excited about TGS. And yes, I know this is more of a rant than article, but I had to let it out. Meanwhile in the Ubisoft Rave Part…. I mean conference

I heard that the way they presented ME3 in E3 was mostly just for show, and all the awesome things about mass effect that we love is still in there, just that they didn’t show it much
Ah well, time will tell
