Preview: Playstation Vita
Sony’s new portable is on its way, and we got our hands to try it out in Games11
What are we talking about?
Playstation Vita, Sony’s new portable powerhouse.
Where did we try it out?
Games11 at the Sony booth
What did we get to play?
Not a lot actually, most of it was one of the Sony booth personnel giving us a quick tour of the PSVita. We tried a bit of that rolling game that requires the rear touchpad which was a little confusing at first and needed a little time to get use to. Also five minutes preview of the new Uncharted game on the PSVita which gave a demonstration of all the touchscreen and gyroscope controls.
The Vita wasn’t as big as many told us would be, if anything it’s a little larger than the regular PSP that just seems to accomedate the larger OLED screen, which looked quite good. The buttons seems a little too mushy as compared to the old PSP and the new analogues felt odd. While you had a more comfortable range when using the PS3 controller analogues, this one felt a little too tight since they were a little too small for thumbs.
So What do we think?
The controls seem a little odd, otherwise this is an interesting device that we are genuinely excited for, especially with the great lineup coming for it. According to Sony, the PS Vita will be out in February for the UAE.
